If anyone's seen my flatmate Jon recently, give us a shout. Seems that he's been out of contact for a couple of weeks- (I was assuming he was with his girlfriend, but she's not heard form him either) and people are starting to worry...

Well, my computer continues to be in hyper-flaky mode (it's been up for about ten minutes, which is the most stable it's been all day- ignore the time, it's really 3pm).
Anyway, please don't rely on my seeing something online that you want me to know! I'll try to check LJ and Facebook, but no guarentees! Email still works fine, since that's on a Linux box!

Well, whilst creeping around in the blogosphere, I found out about this. Warnings about 'not clicking if you're arachnophobic' should *definately* be heeded!

How can I get to Liverpool?

Well, today's total for "Famous stand-up comedians in the Bookshop" is two- Jerry Sadowicz and Stuart Lee. Total for unknown stand-ups, none. Mr Sadowicz is a very polite man in person, which is nice. Mr Lee didn't buy anything, so is less nice. That's it for interesting, unless you're super-interested in Ma.K. models...

There's an Avant-Garde Experimental Noise festival on this weekend, above the Forest Cafe. (Sat+ Sun, 9-late) but I've had great difficulty finding out about it- there's a Facebook page, but stuff like price is missing, and I've found conflicting information by googling- it's either free or a fiver each night. Will there be a bar? No idea. I'm not sure I'm in the mood for it, at the moment. I'll see how I feel tomorrow...

Well, I was poking around on that there E-bay (looking for obscure Ma.K kits) when I found this. (Look at the actual box, not the item description). Willl I get it? No, i'm more of a leg man...

Well, I've taken a bunch of photos and uploaded them to my Flickr Account.
You'll be relieved to know that I'm not going ot do a big explanatory post, but I'm happy to answer questions!

Anyway, yesterday's Ascension was jolly good- if only I could shake the sense of resentment caused by my belief that playing Tiffany robbed me of the chance to hear a goth song. There's plenty of cheesy 80's goth songs that could be played instead, such as The Cure's Love Cats, and when it comes down to it, I think we're alone now is crap to dance to anyway! Still, rant over, I had a great night, and getting soaked by the rain on the way home didn't matter, since I was soaked in sweat anyway...

Today I went to Fringe Sunday on the (water) Meadows, to see if there was anything I didn't hate. There was some ok stuff, but mainly I wandered about in the mud, listening to three or four competing sound-sources, and wondering about the rain...

Well, the most interesting thing that's happened to me today is seeing a Picture of a cardboard box online. I do think it's a pretty amazing box, but that may be for personal reasons...

Well, it seems like a rather... positive morning.
The model I talked about last week is a reality... Hannibal kit, and it's not over-priced or made from a stupid material, unlike a lot of Patlabor models...

Here is a photograph of a Mak Blog hitting 300,000 page-views...

By being the 300,000th visitor I won a kit- a very large and obscure kit! Hurrah!

Well, that was *quite* a saturday night! If octopoid_horror enjoyed his party half as much as I did, it would be... a bit of a waste, really. I hope he enjoyed it at least 3/4 as much as me!

Still, having a good night out has, bizarrely as it might seem, strengthened my descision to stop 'going out' for the next couple of months. There are a few reasons for this, such as the increasing cost of alcohol coupled with the threat of no benefits for several weeks, and the fact that 6 pints on a saturday is probably worse than 2 pints three times a week. The fact that there's not much on in august anyway also adds to the descision.

I'll still be sociable, I'll just be trying to avoid events that require spending money, like clubs or pubs...

Well, here's a tip for those who've received a letter telling them about losing their incapacity benefit, and requested and mailed back the appeal form... At no point will they tell you that ALL YOUR BENEFITS have been cut off, and that you'll have to go through the standard Jobcentre benefits-application procedure or you will become homeless and starve to death. Dear Benefits-people: "Your entitlement to income support may change" is NOT ADEQUATE in explaining what you have done! When you say 'contact the office that deals with your income support', you mean "You think that we're the office that deals with your income support, since all contact about income support over the last twelve months has been with us, but it's not- you need to call an office in Dundee". When you say "If it (income support) does change, we will send you a letter to tell you about the descision" you ARE LYING. It's a good thing I'm paranoid enough to check up on these things. That was a fun hour on the phone. Still, once I hand-deliver a letter to the Housing people tomorrow, that will be everything covered until the next time they tell me something completely different. THe Housing Benefit people seem to think that everything should just keep on running as normal, but I want to talk to them face-to-face to make sure; and also to find out why I've not recieved any Council-tax benefit since 2004, and why this was never noticed until now...

Well, today I feel like there's no such thing as gravity, and the effect is caused by the world being made of suck. But enough of that! Here comes positiveness!

So I went down to the sorting office today, to get the ebay'd fancy dress outfit that didn't arrive in time for last saturday's party (but I would have looked like a prat anyway, so no worries...) and the new Hobby Japan. Spending a half-hour with a glass of orange juice and the magazine, I discovered some enticing products... Who on my friends list wants a Skeksis Action Figure? Not out until october, so plenty of time to save up! I hope they do more- like a toy Garthim! There was a picture of a rather nice crocadile-zoid, but also an image of a kit-prototype of one of my all-time favourite robots! I'll be having me one of them! (as long as it's not stupid money)...

Probably the most exciting news is this Crab! Yes, that's a production sample, not the one I built! Hurray!
